Connor James Lees, a 6-year veteran of the LAFD, was off duty on December 4th, 2024 and doing recreational diving with friends in the Port of Long Beach. He never resurfaced from one of the dives. After a large scale technical search, on December 6th, he was presumed lost at sea and recovery efforts were concluded. His body was later recovered by the Long Beach Police Department on March 28th, 2025.
